Couples Therapy sessions are for couples to improve communication, grow conflict resolution skills, and build connection. I love doing couples therapy, but am relatively new to it, so I offer sessions at a rate which reflects this.

Insurance? No problem.

I’m in network with Aetna, Anthem BCBS, Cigna, Oscar, Oxford, Quest Behavioral Health, and United Healthcare. To confirm your exact coverage and view copays and projected costs, please visit my Headway. For out of network (OON) coverage, I’m happy to provide super bills (aka receipts) for your sessions.

FAQs

  • There is no charge for cancellations made more than 24 hours before your session. For late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) or no-shows, I charge a flat fee of $75. Please note, insurance companies will not pay this fee, so even if you use insurance, this fee will be charged to your payment method on file. Life happens and emergencies or illnesses do come up. For this reason, I am happy to waive the fee for your first late cancellation or no-show.

  • Your time is scheduled for the agreed upon time for the agreed upon duration. If we start late, we will still end at the scheduled time. If lateness becomes an ongoing issue, we can discuss together if continuing is feasible.

  • I pride myself in being consistent, but life happens. If I cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice, I'll put an additional cancellation fee waiver on file for you each time it happens. This has yet to happen, but I'm answering because it's a valid question! I'm typically a very on-time person, but sometimes issues come up with other clients that make me unavoidably late. If I am late, I will add the minutes on to the end of your session or make them up another way if that doesn't work for you.

  • It depends on your needs! Most clients meet with me weekly, but twice a week or every other week are also options. Therapy works best when it's consistent, so I ask clients to commit to at least 2 sessions per month. If I haven't seen you in more than 30 days, I will potentially have to discharge you due to inactivity (unless there are extenuating circumstances such as international travel or severe illness).

  • What we discuss in therapy is confidential! There are a few exceptions which I can go into more detail when we meet, but they mainly pertain to acute safety concerns. If you choose to pay with insurance, limited information would be shared with your insurance company. I’m happy to chat more about this over the phone if you have questions or concerns.

  • As a general practice, if the reason you are seeking therapy is for me to write you some type of letter (ex. ESA, disability, court) I will not be comfortable providing it. For long term clients who are already engaged in my services, requests for letters will be reviewed on a case by case basis depending on the situation.

  • Feel free to contact me! Our initial contact/consultation is free, and I always prefer to work out these important questions in advance!
